Watching people rock climb hurts my neck

Ben and I packed up the little chartreuse Mini Cooper early October and joined some friends down south in Durham, North Carolina for a week of cruising around the mountains and southern cities. We thoroughly enjoyed

1. Fresh brew at Fullsteam Brewery with Ash, Ben, Kelly, & Pat
2. Hiking Pilot Mountain: sitting among the trees and rock faces for some rock climbing
3. Diving into deliciousness at Allen & Son BBQ Pit after a day of outdoors
4. Homemade empanadas, apple pie, & baked potato soup a la Yarnoff Haus
5. Moonrise hike & mountain top picnic in Kentucy's Pinnacles with Bethany
6. Running every morning. Not enjoyable but made us feel good.
7. Visiting Ash and Ben's new church & brunch at Elmo's Diner
8. A five mile hike above tree line in Red River Gorge in KY with Ben & Bethany
9. An excellent book-on-cd choice: Unbroken, a WWII POW Story
10. Photographing the fog in the Smoky Mountains (above)
11. Conversations re: apathetic puppies, Georgia pines, religion, & salvage
12. Most obviously: the lovelies we spent our time with over the course of that week
