Ben's entire family took today off so we could wander the city together on a Wednesday afternoon. We rented an electric boat and Ben steered us up and down the Chicago River while we feasted on tomato basil with fresh mozarella. And Doritos. We wandered through Millenium Park and despite amazing fall temperatures (60 degrees), Teo and Maye could not stay out of the water (see photo above). We ended the evening with ice cream sundaes at Margies. A school night combined with a sugar crash: Maye crashed on her Dada's knee. It softened my heart to watch Ben carry her sleeping body (heavy arms and dangling legs) in his arms from the car to her bedroom. Can we do this every September?
This is nice - but I was really looking forward to some more wednesday fiction (that I have a hard time understanding). It makes my brain work a little harder...
